THE HONDURAN FLORA

The earliest significant botanical collections from Cusuco NP were made by Cyril H. Nelson in 1993 as part of a 'Evaluación ecológica rapida, Parque Nacional El Cusuco y Cordillera del Merendón, Honduras'. Later collection effords by Daniel L. Kelly and colleagues between 2004 and 2013 focused primarily on the woody vegetation. In 2012 and 2013 Sven P. Batke and Nick Hill surveyed the mechanically dependent flora (holo-epiphytes, primary hemi-epiphytes, nomadic vines, climber and hemi-parasites) in a more targeted approach.
